Llangorse
A pretty village with popular pubs, near to Llangorse Lake, the biggest natural lake in South Wales and boasts a replica Crannog - a medieval home built on stilts in the Lake. Support the community council with a couple of quid for the dog wash at the toilets on the Common.
Bwlch
A village with a pub and a corner shop - ideally positioned at the highest point on the A40 with views down the valley linking Abergavenny to Brecon.
You will find family-run bed and breakfasts, luxury hotels and the very best self-catering, glamping and camping sites.
The Nantyfiin Cider Mill, The Manor and The Dragon Inn serve great food using the best local produce or the world-famous Bear Hotel in Crickhowell. There is a café culture in both towns, try the Copper Kettle Tearoom on the outskirts of Abergavenny.
